How it works:
1) In the first half of the night, artists perform in threes,
each writer playing 1 original song for the rest of the room.
2) In the second half of the night, each writer has a chance to perform a song related to the “song challenge,” a word or phrase released on the 1st day of each month,
meant to inspire songwriters to continue writing.
3) Friends, family, and fans are welcome to attend.
Song Challenge
A word or phrase released on the 1st day of month,
to be used in a original song at Open Floor.This exercise is used to motivate artists to continue to write.
It is a chance to see other artist’s creative use of a phrase in a song,
and challenge yourself as well.It is not meant as a competition, but as a motivator and writing experiment.
